Smart manufacturing in microelectronics

Abstract

The aim of the course is to get the students acquainted with the assembly technologies of complex electronic circuits, the factors affecting the quality and quality testing methods of electronic circuits. The course covers the main steps of reflow soldering technology in details, the equipment used for in-manufacturing inspection and the equipment for quality checks. The course presents the concept of smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0, and their application in microelectronics.

Each unit is structured as follows: * First, the theoretical foundations of each unit are presented. * The following block deals with practical examples.* For the particularly motivated, we offer additional material. This can be simulation examples or detailed elaborations and videos. * Finally, there is a test. In order to obtain a certificate, at least 75% of the points must be achieved. * Positive completion of the test results in receiving a badge. Questions can be asked in the accompanying forum. These can then be answered by both the course creators and the participants.
